Boating industry efforts to repeal the Renewable Fuel Standard continue to heat up with a new television commercial airing in Washington, D.C.

The new commercial – you can view it below – is supported by the National Marine Manufacturers Association and BoatUS and funded by the American Petroleum Institute.

I won’t go into the issues with the RFS and, more specifically, the 15 percent ethanol blend known as E15, but if you need a reminder, check out our recent coverage here.

The ad’s a little silly, but at least gets the message across. NMMA says it is the first in a series of spots urging Congress to repeal the RFS. The industry and its partners have also been running print ads, coordinating letter campaigns and more.

If you’re interested in getting more involved on E15 or other government issues, consider attending American Boating Congress this year. You can read our preview of the 2014 conference here.
