CHICAGO – The Great Lakes Boating Federation has begun an effort to organize boaters in the Great Lakes area politically and is asking for their input and help, the organization said in a recent release.

Citing issues such as sales-taxes increases, fee increases, unreasonable legislation, and unjustifiable closure of marinas and launch ramps, the federation said “the need for an organization to give voice to the boaters in the Great Lakes region becomes apparent.”

“We want to know what you think about these issues,” the federation said. “If you would like to contribute to the developing ideas of this group, please fill out the federation’s online survey at http://x.boatgreatlakes.org/survey.html.
