VALCOURT, Québec – Bombardier Recreational Products signed an agreement this week with Tohatsu Corporation to supply a range of 3.5 to 15 HP Evinrude outboards through its dealerships beginning in early 2012. The new engines will add to BRP’s existing line of Evinrude E-TEC 15 H.O. to 300 HP outboards.

“We believe Tohatsu Corporation, who builds quality and market-proven engines, to be the right supplier to complete the Evinrude line-up,” José Boisjoli, president and CEO of BRP, said in a press release.

He added, “BRP’s focus remains on the development and manufacturing of high-value and higher horsepower engines, using the E-TEC technology that we will continue to enhance with industry-leading features and benefits over the years to come.”

It is about time BRP has small engines. I for one hope they are labeled Johnson. Evinrude and E-TEC are branded together, Evinrude 4-strokes would only muddy the e-tec technology on a Evinrude.
