MBIA elects three directors, appoints 2012 officers

LIVONIA, Mich. – The Michigan Boating Industries Association recently announced the election of three new directors this week as well as the appointment of the association’s officers for 2012.
Mike Apling of Devil’s Lake Water Sports in Manitou Beach and Tom Den Herder of Yacht Basin Marina in Holland were elected as statewide directors, and Steve Popkie of W.C. Beardless in Harsens Island was elected to serve as Southeast Regional Director. All three directors will serve three year terms.
The 2012 MBIA Officers are: Jim Coburn, Coburn and Associations in Macomb, Chairman of the Board; Tom Haag, Colony Marine in St. Clair Shores, Vice Chair; Debi Schroeder, Wilson Marine in Brighton, Secretary/Treasurer.
Five other directors will continue to serve out their terms in 2012: Jim Adams of Freeway Sports Center in Fenton; Douglas Bergmann of Bergmann Marine in Charlevoix; Greg Krueger of Jefferson Beach Yacht Sales in St. Clair Shores; Chris Lisowicz of North Shore Marine in Spring Lake; and Tim Tadsen, BAM Director in Carleton.
