ORLANDO, Fla. – Nautique released its first 100-percent electric ski boat a year ago. The company announced this week that it will unveil its first 100-percent electric wakeboard boat at the 2012 Detroit Boat Show.
The boat is designed with two automotive electric motors that offer 160 kilowatts of peak output and is equipped with lithium-ion batteries with storage of up to 78 kilowatt-hours.
Nautique again partnered with LTS Marine of Canada to produce the all-electric wakeboard boat, Nautique President/CEO Bill Yeargin said in a release.
“Since the debut of the Ski Nautique E a year ago, our goal has been to produce an all-electric wakeboard boat that has the performance boat owners expect from a Nautique along with Nautique’s extraordinary quality, innovation and industry leading technology,” Yeargin said in a statement. ”This is the first of many exciting announcements from Nautique in 2012.”

Lots of green technology people with money, ready to jump into the boating hobby. Looks like Nautique is the first to market!
