NEW YORK MILLS, Minn. – Brunswick’s expansion of its manufacturing facility in New York Mills is expected to be complete by mid-February, improving manufacturing efficiency for its Crestliner brand, Ben Cast, president of Crestliner, recently told Boating Industry magazine.
Cast said increased demand for its Deep-V fishing boats will be better accommodated once the 22,000-square-foot expansion is complete.
“It is expanding our final assembly area to allow us to continue some of the operations where in previous days we had to break them up and do them at different parts of the facility,” Cast said. “Now we can just keep them going down the line and increase our efficiency in getting boats done.”
Crestliner transitioned a portion of its manufacturing operations to the New York Mills plant in 2010 and shares the facility with Lund Boats, which manufactures its aluminum line at the central Minnesota plant.
Breaking ground in September, the project will also add necessary warehouse space, according to Dan Kubera, director of media relations and corporate communications for Brunswick Corp.
