ST. LOUIS, Mo. – June 14, 2012 – The Waterways Journal, Inc., a 125-year-old publishing company offering a portfolio of recreational and commercial magazines aimed at the marine industry, is pleased to announce the first digital edition of HeartLand Boating. The June edition of the magazine, which covers pleasure boating on mid-America’s inland waterways, can be now enjoyed at www.heartlandboating.com.
The new digital edition of HeartLand Boating has all the same material, including the same enthusiastic content and design, as the print edition. However, in the digital edition, nearly all of the Web links are live and clicking on the display ads will open new windows to the advertisers’ homepage.
“This is an exciting accomplishment for our group,” said Publisher H. Nelson Spencer. “It allows more readers to engage with us than ever before, and also provides more visibility for our advertisers, who provide critical products and services for Heartland boaters.”
Both the print and digital editions of HeartLand Boating will continue to be published eight times a year, monthly from March through October. Plans are for future issues of the digital edition to contain more interactivity, such as embedded video clips and bonus content like image galleries, which cannot exist in the print edition.
“The digital edition of HeartLand Boating opens up new doors for content from our skilled writers, our passionate readers and our advertising partners,” said Spencer. “I am extremely pleased about this launch, and I look forward to seeing it continue to evolve in the future.”
