New Arrangement with Key Insurance Companies for Yachts under their Management Alleviates Need for Owners to Carry Crew

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., June 20, 2012 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ — Fort Lauderdale-based luxury yacht brokerage firm 26 North Yachts recently announced a move to the prestigious, Fort Lauderdale-based Marina Bay and subsequent partnership with Florida Yacht Management, further advancing their position as leaders in yacht sales and management.

In addition to waterfront office space, the new location at top-rated Marina Bay offers 26 North Yachts clients country club amenities–at a discount. Co-Owner Mike Carlson noted, “Furthermore, our sellers will benefit from having a slip at a high visibility marina within close proximity to the airport, giving buyers the opportunity to preview a wide variety of yachts up to 150 feet.”

26 North Yachts also announced a partnership with Florida Yacht Management under the direction of Captain Scott Kidd. 26 North Co-Owner Nicholas Scherb said, “We’re pleased to now be able to offer a management service to our clients. Scott manages some of the finest yachts in the industry–both motor and sailing–in all sizes, earning a reputation for reliability and professionalism. 26 North Yachts customers will receive significant discounts for all management service ranging from bottom cleaning to engineering.”

An example of 26 North Yachts’ innovation and progressiveness, they have made arrangements with key insurers to waive the customary requirement that yachts in the 80-foot to 130-foot range carry crew–as long as the yacht is in a management arrangement with Florida Yacht Management. “Bottom line: we will be able to save yacht owners money,” said Carlson, “and as long as they’re a client with our partner management company, they won’t have to float a crew. In addition, Marina Bay is located in a hurricane hole four miles inland, providing an extra level of assurance and protection.”

Scherb added, “With 26 North Yachts’ launch of an expanded website employing the latest yacht buying and selling technologies, together with our new relationship with Florida Yacht Management, and our ability to protect and service our megayacht customers at a lower cost than ever before, we are poised to be the premier yacht sales company. We’re at the forefront and are redefining how today’s yacht sales are made.”
