A new YBAA members-only service has been designed to connect brokers with technical expertise and support from participating boat Manufacturers (MFRs) and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) via the new YBAA web site, set to launch in August.
With the goal of developing a closer working relationship between the community of yacht sales professionals and technical experts at key manufacturers, the YBAA MFR/OEM Partners program will support the sharing of vital information, allowing yacht sales professionals to be better informed about manufacturers’ products and services, and better able to advise clients about technical and manufacturing issues.
YBAA members will access participating manufacturers via the MFR/OEM Partners link on the new YBAA ‘Members’ web site. The new YBAA ‘Boaters’ web site will also list the MFR/OEM Partners, with links to their web sites. In preparation for the launch of the new program and new web sites, YBAA has extended invitations to select manufacturers to join the MFR/OEM Partners initiative. To date, the following companies have signed on: Beneteau America Power; Beneteau America; Edson; Forespar; Grand Banks Yachts, Ltd; Harken; Hunter Marine Corp; IMTRA; Island Packet; J Boats, Inc.; MJM Yachts; and Ronstan.
Many YBAA members and CPYB brokers sell new boats as well as previously owned vessels. Thanks to YBAA’s efforts, manufacturers now recognize that most new boat sales come as a direct result of brand loyalty established when new boaters purchase their first used boat from a well-informed, knowledgeable and professional sales person. To that end, the more information and education that can be provided by manufacturers to yacht sales professionals, the higher the level of consumer confidence and satisfaction.
In addition, the new YBAA web sites will connect members and visitors to the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) initiatives, with prominent access points on the YBAA sites to Discover Boating and Welcome to the Water content and resources. These efforts, combined with the new MFR/OEM Partners program will help to further pull key industry segments together to achieve common goals.
