17th Annual Sail America Event to Host Hundreds of New Sailboats, Free Sailboat Rides, America’s Cup Action and More
Warren, Rhode Island (September 20, 2012) — The 2013 Strictly Sail Pacific Boat Show is set to return to Jack London Square in Oakland, California, Thursday through Sunday, April 11–14, 2013. The West Coast’s largest all-sail boat show features new sailboats, gear, accessories, hardware, seminars, interactive workshops, and free sailboat rides. Produced by Sail America, the trade association for the U.S. sailing industry, this year’s show marks a special year as it coincides with the 2013 America’s Cup, also taking place in San Francisco.
“The entire San Francisco Bay Area is all a buzz about sailing now and the excitement continues to gain momentum as we enjoy the America’s Cup World Series racing on the bay, and get closer to the actual 34th America’s Cup Finals,” said Sail America President Josh Adams. “There has never been a better time to celebrate sailing in the San Francisco Bay Area, making the timing of the 17th Annual Strictly Sail Pacific Boat Show, the place to be for exhibitors, attendees, experienced sailors and those new to the sport as well.”
According to Sail America staff, newbies and serious sailors alike attend the Strictly Sail Pacific Boat Show to immerse themselves in the sailing lifestyle, talk to experts, participate in hands-on seminars, and learn new sailing techniques. Building on a successive three years of growth, Strictly Sail Pacific Boat Show officials report last year’s Strictly Sail Pacific Boat Show held at Jack London Square boasted a seven percent increase in both attendance at the gate and exhibitor space sales over the previous year.
Capitalizing on that momentum, the Sail America team is planning a larger audience and is already working toward making the 2013 Strictly Sail Pacific Boat Show bigger, better, and more diverse with more special events, seminars, and hands-on activities.
The Strictly Sail Pacific Boat Show is produced by Sail America, the trade association for the U.S. sailing industry dedicated to promoting the health and growth of sailing. Established in 1990, Sail America now has more than 500 members representing all segments of the sailing market. For more information, visit www.sailamerica.com.
