Consumer sentiment hits five-year high
The Thomson Reuters/University of Michigan preliminary index of consumer sentiment beat projected forecasts in November, reaching a five-year high of 84.9, according to a report from Reuters on Friday morning.
The preliminary index was up 2.3 points over October’s 82.6.
Consumer expectations rose to 80.8 from 79.0, according to the survey, and Reuters reported that expectations for this month also beat an expected 79.6 measurement.
The final report for the month is due out Nov. 21.
