Marina conference offers in-depth tours of area marinas prior to opening exhibit hall
Warren, RI—The International Marina & Boatyard Conference (IMBC) staff has finalized the agenda
for its annual preconference marina field trip. This year’s field trip on Wednesday, January 30, will include Marina at Bahia Mar, The Marina at Marina Bay, and Roscioli Yachting Center. Produced by the Association of Marina Industries (AMI), IMBC is scheduled for January 30–February 1, 2013, in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
“The IMBC field trip nicely supplements our seminar and workshop program, exhibit hall, and networking events with a hands-on educational experience,” Jim Frye, AMI president, says. “The field trip is highly popular and provides an additional networking opportunity for our participants.”
From 12:00 pm to 3:45 pm on January 30, field trip attendees will visit three discrete marinas: Marina
at Bahia Mar, a 40-acre, 250-slip megayacht facility that can accommodate vessels up to 250 feet; The Marina at Marina Bay, a resort-like marina with various amenities such as a pool, a billiard room, theater, gym, and Internet café; and Roscioli Yachting Center, a state-of-the-art full-service marina and boatyard with onsite carpenters, electricians, mechanics, and designers.
All three marinas are located in Fort Lauderdale and participants will return in time for the 4:00 AMI Member Meeting at the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center. The conference exhibit hall opens at 6:00 that evening for an opening reception, and the IMBC educational seminars begin Thursday morning at 8:30 a.m.
Certified Marina Managers (CMMs) who attend the field trip will receive four contact hours. Registration costs $45 for AMI members and $75 for non-members. Participants must be pre-registered. For more information, please visit MarinaAssociation.org/IMBC or call 401-682-7334.
IMBC—Formed in 2002 as the National Marina & Boatyard Conference, the International Marina & Boatyard Conference is currently the only show catered specifically to marina and boatyard owners, operators, and managers as well as dockmasters, harbormasters, boat builders and repairers, and industry consultants.
AMI—The Association of Marina Industries (AMI) is a nonprofit membership organization providing management training, education, and information about research, legislation, and environmental issues affecting the marina industry.
