T. Clarke Smith III named President of marine operations with Norman-Spencer

(Dayton, Ohio) December 13, 2012 – The Norman-Spencer Agency, Inc., a leading national property and casualty insurance provider, announced today that T. Clarke Smith will lead the agency’s marine operations in a new role as president.
Smith will direct the Norman-Spencer Agency marine division, which manages the national, industry leading First Marine and AquaPac programs serving the recreational marine and boat and yacht insurance markets.

Under Clarke’s supervision, we are looking forward to expanding our products and services for the recreational marine industry.”
An industry veteran, with over 25 years of experience in marine insurance underwriting, Smith most recently served as Vice-President of Chubb Custom Markets.
“I’ve been involved in the boating community my entire career,” said Smith. “My direct involvement in the industry, combined with Norman-Spencer’s excellent marine programs and consistent commitment, will provide the members of the boating industry with a valuable resource for the products and services they need in order to operate their businesses cost effectively and efficiently.”
Smith and Norman-Spencer share a long-standing history of support and involvement in the recreational marine and boat and yacht industry trade associations. Smith is a member of the board of directors of the Association of Marina Industries (AMI) and is actively involved in the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) Risk Management Committee.
Norman-Spencer has partnered with the Marina Retailers Association of the Americas (MRAA) since 1988, providing members a wide variety of insurance products. In addition, principals of Norman-Spencer are on the boards of directors for the MRAA, AMI and Northwest Marine Trade Association.
