Consumer sentiment tumbles on fiscal cliff fears

With Americans worried about faltering fiscal cliff negotiations, the Thomson Reuters/University of Michigan’s consumer sentiment index fell nearly 10 points in December.
The 72.9 reading is down from 82.7 last month and from the preliminary reading of 74.5 earlier this month.
