For the first time, the U.S. will have a group presence at the Rio Boat Show April 25-May 1. “Brazil remains a top export market for our members, and it’s a tough market to navigate,” said Julie Balzano, NMMA’s Export Development Director. “The NMMA has taken the lead on organizing a USA Pavilion to enable our members the opportunity to efficiently pursue business opportunities in this growing market.”
Joining the NMMA are 16 members including: Camco Manufacturing, Captain Harry’s Fishing Supply, E & P Marine, Inc., Grady-White Boats, Inc., HydroHoist Marine Group, International Marine Certification Institute, Lewmar, Inc., Magic Tilt Trailers, Inc., Marquis Yachts, LLC, Miami Nautique International, NC Department of Commerce, P.Y.I., Inc., S2Yachts (Tiara Yachts and Pursuit Boats), Scout Boats, Inc., Solas Science & Engineering Co. Ltd., and Stingray Boat Company.
The efforts of the NMMA in Brazil are supported by the U.S. Commercial Service in Brazil. To kick-off the Rio Boat Show, NMMA, with the support of the U.S. Commercial Service, is hosting a breakfast seminar on April 25 featuring speakers from BR Marinas, Boat Brasil Media Group and Lanchas Venturas, one of Brazil’s leading boat builders. The focus of the seminar is educating U.S. marine companies on Brazil’s boating industry including opportunities, challenges and legal considerations.
At the conclusion of the show, NMMA members are participating in a one-day site visit to Marina Verolme, one of Brazil’s most prestigious marinas located in the popular boating region of Angra dos Reis, to enhance their market research efforts and evaluate Brazil’s recreational boating industry from a user perspective.
