Certified Marina Manager will guide IMI tour in October

Warren, Rhode Island—Certified Marina Manager Brad St. Coeur will host and facilitate IMI’s 7th Annual Southeast Florida Marina and Boatyard Study Tour, October 29–30, 2013. The Study Tour is produced by the International Marina Institute (IMI), a subsidiary of the Association of Marina Industries (AMI).

The IMI Southeast Florida Marina Study Tour based out of the B Ocean hotel in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is a two-day mobile training course that takes participants on exclusive tours of marinas to provide an in-depth look at the operations of different types of facilities in South Florida. At the end of each day, attendees participate in a facilitated roundtable discussion and SWOT (strength, weaknesses, opportunities, threats) analysis of each marina before heading to a networking dinner.

“As a marina manager at Sunrise Marina in Fort Lauderdale, Brad St. Coeur, CMM has first-hand knowledge of the business of running a marina in South Florida,” AMI Chair, Gary Groenewold, CMM, says.
“The fact that he’s a Certified Marina Manager allows him to share insider and professional knowledge about the area with study tour participants.” Sunrise Harbor Marina is also a former IMI Study Tour destination and was named 2012 Marina of the Year by Marina Dock Age magazine.

A former boat captain, St. Coeur has over 30 years’ experience in the boating industry and was instrumental in acquiring both Clean Marina/Boatyard designations for multiple marina facilities in South Florida. He also previously served as Chair of the Florida Clean Marina Partnership, which is an organization of both industry and governmental agencies committed to providing clean facilities to the boating public and maintaining and protecting Florida’s waterways from pollution.

For more information about the IMI Southeast Florida Marina and Boatyard Tour, which falls directly after IMI’s 10th Drystack Conference (October 27–28, 2013), visit MarinaAssociation.org or email IMItraining@MarinaAssociation.org.

The International Marina Institute (IMI) has been training and certifying marina personnel for over 20 years and offers courses in Intermediate Marina Management and Advanced Marina Management, as well as providing qualified members with the coveted Certified Marina Manager (CMM) and Certified Marina Operator (CMO) designations. Over 300 managers, representing some of the top marinas in the world, have successfully completed IMI’s Certified Marina Manager program.

The Association of Marina Industries (AMI) is a nonprofit membership organization that provides management training, education, and information about research, legislation, and environmental issues affecting the marina industry.
