Aluminum fishing boat manufacturer Naden Boats has raised more than $20,000 in support of cancer research with a special edition pink boat that is being raffled off as a fundraiser.
The company, in cooperation with the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, has created a one-of-a-kind Naden Fisherman 14-foot aluminum boat with a unique pink paint finish. Rigged with a 15 hp Tohatsu 4-stroke outboard, Yacht Club trailer, cover and a safety package, the boat has been displayed at community events throughout central Canada over the past eight weeks in what the company has dubbed the Pink Boat Tour. The package, with a retail value of $7,000, has so far raised more than $20,000 for cancer research through raffle ticket sales.
The grand prize winner will be drawn on Sunday, October 6 at the conclusion of the 5 km CIBC Run for the Cure fundraising event in North Bay, Ontario.
