Jump in interest for aluminum center consoles, tiller operation encourages new designs
ELKHART, IN, October 8, 2013 — Responding to a significant recent spike in consumer and dealer demand for aluminum center consoles and tiller-operated boats, 2013 CSI award winner Polar Kraft has introduced a new model in each category. Polar Kraft, a division of Nautic Global Group, adds the Outlander 186 CC and the Classic 156 T to its lineup of more than 70 different aluminum sport boats designed for fishing and hunting.
“Because we are a smaller company, we are in the unique position of being able to react quickly to market demands,” said Conrad West, Polar Kraft Brand Manager. “We were a little surprised to see how these sub-categories are really taking off, so we wanted to make sure we had products in place that not only filled a niche, but were a natural complement to the rest of our high-quality, hand-built Polar Kraft line.”
Polar Kraft Outlander 186 CC
Responding to a growing demand for aluminum center consoles, Polar Kraft has introduced the newest member of its Outlander series, the 186 CC. With a full 92-inch beam allowing plenty of room to move around the helm, the 186 is a full-featured fishing and hunting machine. With an elevated forward casting platform, dedicated lockable storage for tackle and rods, easy-step extruded gunwales, Accessa Trac channels for securing aftermarket accessories from Bert’s Custom Tackle, standard Lowrance X-4 Fish Finder, and a custom trailer with LED lights and radials, the 186 is one of the most versatile aluminum boats on the water. Polar Kraft offers a wide range of color options including two Mossy Oak brand camouflage patterns.
Polar Kraft Classic 156 T
Adding to its top-selling Classic Series, Polar Kraft has introduced the 156 T for fishing families who prefer a tiller-operated motor in a boat that’s incredibly easy to handle and trailer. With the Classic Series receiving an all-new graphics and logo update for 2014, the 156 T is a sharp-looking fishing machine from the water. The boat features plenty of lockable rod storage, and aerated livewell, standard Lowrance X-4 Fish Finder, and a MinnKota 45 Edge bow-mounted trolling motor. The tough Torque Control Design double-riveted, reverse-chine hull features extruded aluminum keels and spray rails, closed-cell foam flotation, and a strong longitudinal stringer system.
“One of the great things about working with Polar Kraft is that they are not a ‘wait-and-see’ company…they are an ‘anticipate-and-act’ company,” said Dave Hamlin, owner of Hamlin’s Marine, with locations in Waterville and Bangor, Maine, the largest Polar Kraft dealer in the world. “I’ve been in the boat business for a long time now, and it’s refreshing to have partners that are interested in leading the pack rather than following. Combine that with the fact that they make some of the best fishing and hunting boats on the water, and it’s a recipe for success.”
