Vonore, TN — MasterCraft Boat Company, the world’s leading luxury performance inboard boat manufacturer, recently announced it has been awarded the highly sought-after and rarely achieved global ISO 9001:2008 certification from Alliance International, LLC. The certification confirms that MasterCraft, who is the only inboard manufacturer to achieve such a prestigious certification, has met the requirements of the ISO standard for its Quality Management System across its production and product development operations.

“MasterCraft has long been the standard in quality and the fact that we have now received ISO 900:2008 certification is proof of our ongoing and uncompromising commitment to quality,” said Terry McNew, MasterCraft president and CEO. “This achievement along with our newly announced factory-direct 5-year warranty called MasterCare demonstrates the confidence we have in our product and processes to build our world-class boats. And we are beyond pleased that we are the first in our industry to have both ISO 9001:2008 certification and a 5 year factory-direct warranty.”

In order to achieve ISO 9001:2008 certification, Mastercraft has demonstrated that they have implemented effective quality management systems across all areas of the business, including facilities, people, training, services and manufacturing. Intense interviews were carried out with management and employees, and procedures were meticulously reviewed across all functional areas of the company.

“Standardization of our processes and systems has been a key focus area of our operational excellence strategy,” said Shane Chittum, MasterCraft COO. “We are dedicated to growing an operational excellence culture and as such, are currently registered for subsequent global environmental and safety ISO standards audits this calendar year to earn those certifications as well.”

Bravo for MasterCraft! I can now see how they offer that 5 year warranty. A great boat – backed by a quality system. I have had clients become ISO certified and it is a major undertaking involving the whole organization to document and standardize everything.
