IMI awards CMMs and CMOs at 2014 International Marina & Boatyard Conference

WARREN, R.I. — The International Marina Institute (IMI), the training subsidiary of the Association of Marina Industries (AMI), awarded eight marina professionals as Certified Marina Managers (CMM) and one marina professional as a Certified Marina Operator (CMO) at the AMI-produced 2014 International Marina & Boatyard Conference (IMBC) in Ft Lauderdale, FL, on January 30. The CMM and CMO designations recognize and distinguish the most highly qualified marina managers throughout the world.

IMI’s newest CMMs include Scott Bird of SkipperBud’s Quarterdeck Marina (Sturgeon Bay, WI), Nancy Booth of Hartge Yacht Harbor (Galesville, MD), Matthew Driscoll of Cooper River Marina (North Charleston, SC), Simon Gatrell of Royal Victoria Yacht Club (Victoria, BC), Mark Helman of Conch House Marina (St. Augustine, FL), James McCrink of Miami Dade County Parks & Recreation (Homestead, FL), Tracy McKendry of Shilshole Bay Marina (Seattle, WA), and Brad Wilson of Mears Great Oak Landing (Chestertown, MD). IMI’s newest CMO is Stuart Robertson of The Charleston City Marina (Charleston, SC).

There are currently 324 CMMs and 13 CMOs worldwide. In addition to marina-management experience, CMM/CMO candidates must complete Intermediate and Advanced Marina Management courses available through IMI. The next Intermediate Marina Management course is scheduled for November 9–13, 2014, in Fort Lauderdale, FL, while the next Advanced Marina Management course is scheduled for February 23–28, 2014, in Charleston, SC.
