FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. ABBRA, the American Boat Builders and Repairers Association is once again partnering with a state marine trade association to offer its intensive three-day Marine Service Manager course from March 4th 6th in Arundel, Maine at The Landing School. The course is being offered in collaboration with Maine Marine Trades Association and is a main requirement for service managers seeking to become an ABBRA Certified Marine Service Manager.

Executive Director of ABBRA, Gordon Connell stated, ³Our MSM Program is always well received and we as a national group have found that working with local partners helps ensure its success. Our instructors offer boatyard managers and individuals preparing for leadership roles in boatyards a good understanding of their responsibilities and the best management practices that are expected in well-run facilities.² He noted, ³We are returning to Maine this year after conducting one in 2012 that had a full class of 25 students and another last year in Rhode Island and had 20 students. The MSM course is led by a group of widely respected, as well as recognized, marine industry and boatyard professionals. It covers areas such as leadership skills, time management, human resources, workforce development, safety, health and emergency response, maritime law and contracts, job estimating, project management, financial management, and a boatyard case study.
