Yamaha adds Austin Roebuck to government relations team
KENNESAW, Ga. — Yamaha Marine Group announced the appointment of Austin Roebuck as Marine Government Relations Coordinator, reporting to Marine Government Relations Manager, Martin Peters.
In his new role, Roebuck will be responsible for supporting Yamaha Marine’s advocacy efforts, including the endorsement of “A Vision for Managing America’s Saltwater Recreational Fisheries,” which calls for much-needed change in the Magnuson-Stevens Act, the primary law governing saltwater fisheries management. He will also help Yamaha to continue to raise awareness of ethanol’s potential harmful effects in marine engines, and fight to keep E15 from becoming a primary fuel source.
“Austin’s experience and political background are a good fit for our team,” said Martin Peters, Government Relations Manager, Yamaha Marine Group. “We are pleased to have him join us as we ramp up our efforts to support the marine industry’s positions on important legislative initiatives related to fisheries and ethanol.”
Roebuck comes to Yamaha Marine from the office of Georgia State Senate Majority Leader Ronnie Chance, where he held the position of Senate Aide. Prior to that, he served U.S. Congressman Lynn Westmoreland (Georgia) as a Congressional Intern. Roebuck has also been involved in several political campaigns. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Georgia State University and holds a degree in Political Science and Communication.
