Mercury Marine promotes Chris Drees to Vice President of Global Operations

FOND DU LAC, Wis. (June 17, 2014) – Mercury Marine, the world leader in marine propulsion and technology, is excited to announce the promotion of Chris Drees to Vice President of Global Operations.

Drees is currently the President of Attwood and Vice President & General Manager Brunswick Marine P&A Products.

During his eight years at Attwood, Drees served as chief operating officer, then as president, until his most recent role. From 1998-2006, Drees held a variety of positions within Mercury, including roles in purchasing, sales and marketing, and general manager of propellers.

“Chris is a perfect fit to become the vice president of global operations at Mercury Marine,” said Mercury Marine President John Pfeifer. “His experience in the industry and his broad business management experience, including operations, make this a perfect fit. We are fortunate to have Chris take the lead on global operations at Mercury Marine.”

Drees earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire, and an MBA from Marquette University. Currently based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Drees, his wife, Amy, and their three sons will relocate to the Fond du Lac area in the near future.

“I am excited for the opportunity to come back to Mercury Marine’s world headquarters in Fond du Lac,” Drees said. “I have had the good fortune of wearing many different hats for Brunswick Corporation, and have spent most of my career in the marine industry. Drees will work at Mercury world headquarters in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, and will report to Mercury Marine President John Pfeifer, who was recently promoted from vice president of global operations.
