40 year marine industry sales & marketing veteran Duffy Stenger retires

duffyJune 18, 2014, Orlando, FL — Duffy Stenger, a veteran marine industry sales and marketing executive, retires the end of June after a highly successful 40-year career of continuous service.

Stenger’s lifelong marine industry career began during his college days in the early 70’s when he joined Carl Lillis and Associates and helped to found and publish Mid America Boating magazine, covering the Northern Ohio, Michigan and Pennsylvania markets. Stenger sold advertising in the magazine to marine retailers, which eventually led to his recruitment and hiring by Brockway Marine as vice president and general manager.

“When I joined Brockway in 1973, we had a single location in Ashtabula, Ohio with annual sales of $500,000.  Thirteen years later, we grew the business to six locations in three states, with sales in excess of $20 million and were a top dealer for both Sea Ray and Carver Yachts.”

Stenger accepted a position with Carver Yachts and served as its Southern Regional Sales Manager, followed by a promotion to National Sales manager, a post he held for 10 years.

For the past 20+ years, Stenger has served in a senior leadership capacity with Regal Marine Industries in Orlando, FL, as vice president of sales and marketing.

“The very best part of the boating business has been the opportunity to work with and meet some very wonderful people”, says Stenger.  “I am grateful to have had the chance to be a part of this exceptionally unique industry and to have made so many lifelong friends and colleagues.”

Stenger and his wife Karen will remain in Florida upon retirement. As to his future plans?

“We plan to travel, spend more time with the grandkids, fish and golf – maybe even take an occasional afternoon nap,” he says enthusiastically.
