AMI enters new membership alliance with Boating BC Association

WARREN, R.I. — The Association of Marina Industries (AMI) and Boating BC Association, have entered into a membership alliance that will welcome Boating BC marina members as full members of AMI with access to all membership services and benefits in addition to their membership to Boating BC.

This agreement captures the groups’ mutual interest in expanding professional training programs in British Columbia. Through AMI’s International Marina Institute, Boating BC can now customize and deliver marina training programs to its members and other marina professionals from across Canada.

“We are very pleased to be working with AMI,” says Don Prittie, President of Boating BC. “The educational opportunities and value of this partnership will contribute immensely to the boating industry in British Columbia.”

“This is a natural outgrowth of the increasing levels of interest by marina managers from Canada who have been attending IMI’s courses in the United States,” AMI Chair Jeff Rose, CMM, says. “We see this alliance as an example of how we can work together to successfully deliver an expanded training agenda and grow the industry both here and in Canada.”

This new relationship also extends the number of AMI affiliate relationships with Marine Trade Groups that already includes Kentucky/Tennessee Marina Association and Virginia Marine Trades Association. These relationships allow AMI to extend its voice and reach, while providing the affiliates with full access to the suite of AMI benefits and services, including discounts on training, conferences and publications, and access to AMI’s network of professional speakers and educators.

Boating BC is the voice of recreational boating in British Columbia, Canada working with all levels of government and other stakeholders to grow and enhance the boating experience. Boating BC is a non- profit organization governed by a volunteer board of directors from a variety of sectors in the marine industry, and is the sole owner of the province’s premier boating event, the Vancouver International Boat Show.
