Sailfish Boats joins the Center for Coastal Conservation as corporate sponsor

CAIRO, Ga. – Seminole Marine Group announced today that effective September 15, 2014, it has become a corporate sponsor of the Center for Coastal Conservation.

“We believe it is our duty and responsibility as an industry leader to stand united with The Center for Coastal Conservation to protect our ocean resources. It is also our duty to protect our customer, the recreational anglers’ right, to access those resources – and we believe both of those objectives can be achieved simultaneously,” said Paul Hoppes, president of Sailfish Boats. “We share the vision of a balanced approach to support conservation, while further strengthening the recreational fishing and boating industry, and to help insure that balance is effectively maintained we are joining forces with what’s known in the industry as the political arm of marine conservation – The Center for Coastal Conservation.”

The Center for Coastal Conservation is a coalition of the leading advocates for marine recreational fishing and boating. It is dedicated to promoting sound conservation and use of ocean resources by supporting federal legislators who support its goals through its political action committee, Center PAC. The organization is non-partisan and focuses on issues relating to marine conservation and having an impact in the national political arena, principally Congress and federal regulatory agencies.

The Center was created to advance a balanced approach to conservation. The Center believes laws and regulations that provide for conservation of our marine resources can be – and must be – made compatible with responsible access to those resources. A few of the initiatives it supports include: promoting a quality recreational fishery; improving angling and boating access; ending overfishing; and rebuilding fisheries.

The Center’s membership includes individuals and the major players in marine conservation and recreational boating and fishing. Non-profit members include American Sportfishing Association, Coastal Conservation Association, Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation, International Game Fish Association and National Marine Manufacturers Association. Corporate partners include AFTCO, Brunswick, Costa, Grady White Boats, Sailfish Boats, Maverick Boats, Pure Fishing, Regulator Boats, Sea Hunt Boats, Shimano and Yamaha.
