McMurdo Group launches U.S. office, names VP for Americas

BELTSVILLE, Md. – McMurdo Group, a global leader in end-to-end search and rescue (SAR) and maritime domain awareness (MDA) solutions, today announced the appointment of Randel Maestre as Vice President of Sales for the Americas to lead the company’s expansion into one of the world’s major search and rescue regions.

Maestre will be responsible for implementing a coordinated sales and marketing strategy for McMurdo’s broad product portfolio including emergency distress beacons, search and rescue infrastructure products and fleet management/tracking software. This will include building the sales teams, recruiting new partners and developing new channel programs for the United States, Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean.

“Randel will bring a tremendous amount of experience, leadership and energy to this role,” said Jean-Yves Courtois, CEO McMurdo Group. “His global background, proven ability to implement go-to-market strategies and ability to relate to partners and customers will help us to quickly establish an in-region presence in the Americas. We are confident that he will develop the programs necessary to maximize revenue and growth not only for McMurdo, but also for our entire channel partner community,” Courtois added.

Maestre brings nearly 25 years of global sales and marketing experience to his expanded role at McMurdo Group, where he has been Vice President of Global Strategic Marketing for over a year. During this period, he has led the successful rebranding of the group under a unified brand, the implementation of a global marketing demand center function and the creation of a variety of demand generation and thought leadership programs. Prior to McMurdo, he was at Polycom for over 7 years during which time he served as Vice President of Industry, Field and Channel Marketing and spent a 2-year assignment in Singapore. In addition to living in Asia, he has also lived and worked in Europe (Netherlands) and Latin America (Mexico) during his career.

“McMurdo is poised to leverage its success and reputation as an industry leader into new revenue and growth opportunities across the Americas, a critical search and rescue region,” said Maestre. “We have all of the elements to be successful – a comprehensive collection of search and rescue technologies, a global customer list that rivals that of Fortune 500 companies, a customer-focused regional sales and marketing team and, very soon, an Americas-wide distribution and dealer network,” he added.
