Freedom Boat Club announces alliance with Liberty Marine Group

VENICE, Fla. – Freedom Boat Club, the world’s largest and oldest private boating club in North America with 10,000 members in 19 states and 84 locations, has just signed a franchise agreement with Liberty Marine Group (Liberty) to own and operate boat clubs in Miami and Ft. Lauderdale, FL, along with future locations slated for New Jersey, Virginia and North Carolina.

Liberty’s principal investors also are involved with Baja Marine, which is the parent company of Donzi, Baja, Fountain and Pro-Line Boats. Baja Marine will also build and sell boats to Freedom Boat Club’s 15 corporate-owned clubs and to its other franchise operators.

“It’s a win-win opportunity for all parties involved,” said Freedom Boat Club CEO and President John Giglio. “We are very pleased about partnering with a major boat manufacturer in this franchise opportunity, as the principals of Liberty and Baja Marine share our same passion for getting people out and on the water to enjoy the boating lifestyle. The opportunity to bring these iconic and quality boating brands into our fold is just an added benefit for our members across the country.”

Liberty CEO Bill Gates, a life-long boating enthusiasts from the Jersey Shore to the Keys stated, “We are happy to launch multiple Freedom Boat Club locations, beginning with Ft. Lauderdale and Miami in November, and continuing our expansion throughout the New Jersey, North Carolina/Virginia markets in the spring of 2015, primarily utilizing Pro-Line and other Baja Marine brand boats.”

Marina locations are presently being reviewed and finalized and will be announced shortly. For more information about the Southeast Florida Freedom Boat Club facilities, contact Stacey Gates at (954) 952-4601 or sgates@freedomboatclub.com.
