ABYC welcomes new marketing/PR manager

To communicate and promote its mission and vision, the American Boat & Yacht Council (ABYC) has named Shannon Seipp as its new marketing/PR manager. John Adey, ABYC president, made the announcement.

Seipp brings to her new position a strong background in brand management, for both non- and for-profit organizations. She has worked for Ripken Baseball, US Lacrosse and, most recently, Renegade Communications. She has a master’s degree in recreation leadership from James Madison University.

“We’re very pleased to have found Shannon,” said Adey. “Her broad background and targeted skill set will benefit the organization and those whom we serve in the marine industry.”

Seipp will oversee all aspects of ABYC’s communication and media presence. Her challenging role will include developing marketing and messaging strategies with the goal to increase brand equity and awareness among consumer and industry stakeholders. Additionally, she will create and manage PR and publicity campaigns for these audiences.

“I am thrilled to join the ABYC team,” said Seipp. “They have impressed me with their dedication to the boating industry and commitment to make boating safer. It’s a wonderful opportunity for me to bring my skills to such a well-established and respected organization. Some of my fondest memories are of time spent on my family’s boat and now I get to work with people who share the same passion.”

Since 1954, the non-profit American Boat & Yacht Council (ABYC) has developed safety standards for boat design, construction, equipage, repair and maintenance. The essential global source of marine industry technical information, ABYC’s product safety standards, credentialing, education, training, and other tools help members make boating safer.
