Chicago delays vote on ethanol requirement

The Chicago City Council has delayed a vote on a plan to require E15 in the city, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

The city’s Finance Committee on Monday approved the plan to require 15-percent ethanol blends at some gas stations. The plan would have exempted marinas, but the vote was delayed after opposition from Mayor Rahm Emanuel and some members of the council.

Proponents of the plan have vowed to continue pursuing the ordinance.
