Lightspeed: April continues same-store sales growth

Boat dealer sales grew for the third month in a row in April.

Sales were up 2.8 percent for the month over April 2014, CDK Global Recreation reported. Sales were up in all three categories in the report, which is based on data from dealers that use CDK’s Lightspeed software.

Unit sales improved 4.3 percent for the month from April 2014. Unit sales have been up for three months in a row after a January decline of 1.1 percent.

The parts department continued its winning streak, with sales jumping 16.8 percent year-over-year. Parts revenue has  now increased for 13 months in a row for CDK Lightspeed dealers.

The service department was also strong, with revenue up 8.7 percent over 2014. Service revenue has been up for three months in a row and 12 of the last 14.
