Yamaha’s “Why Wait? Buy Now” promotion offers added value for customers

KENNESAW, Ga. – Yamaha Marine Group announced today one of its most valuable incentive programs of the year, “Why Wait? Buy Now.” The new promotion offers customers a great way to add value to their Yamaha four-stroke outboard purchases leading up to the busy holiday and boat show seasons.

“With the ‘Why Wait? Buy Now’ promotion, customers don’t have to wait for the boat show season to get a great deal,” said Dale Barnes, Division Manager, Marketing, Yamaha Marine Group. “From a 2.5-horsepower to a 350-horsepower Yamaha four-stroke outboard, this promotion offers substantial value for every eligible purchase of a new Yamaha four-stroke outboard.”

For a limited time, the “Why Wait? Buy Now” promotion offers a credit of up to $500 on eligible 2.5- to 70-horsepower Yamaha four-stroke outboard models towards the purchase of goods and/or services available at the authorized participating Yamaha Outboard dealer that sold the outboard. Customers who purchase eligible, new Yamaha four-stroke outboards in the 75- to 350-horsepower range can add three years of Yamaha Extended Service (Y.E.S.) to their three-year Yamaha Limited Warranty for a total of six years of coverage at no additional cost. Additional terms and conditions apply.

Yamaha’s “Why Wait? Buy Now” promotion is effective for select, eligible, new four-stroke outboards purchased and warranty registered between October 1, 2014, and November 18, 2014.

Consumers should see their authorized, participating Yamaha outboard dealers for a complete list of eligible outboards and all terms and conditions.

  1. How about just a rebate or a cash discount or credit to the dealer to use how he wants. Giving this away always cuts into the dealers bottom line profit. Now instead of selling the additional years at a profit, it is given away. Just imagine if the dealer was able to net a few hundred extra dollars in each sale. It will not be long and Mercury will jump back into the 3+2 program as well. Once again, the dealer is left behind and his profit is cut. This business is tough enough with out the manufacturers taking profit dollars right out of the dealers pocket.
This is nothing new. The engine manufacturers have been doing this for years.
